Notes: He and his wife came to Los Angeles from Mexico City and never returned, becoming U. S. citizens. They entered the country at the border crossing at Eagle Pass, TX, on Sept. 20, 1918. Trained and practiced dentistry in Mexico, but never practice in the U.S. According to the 1930 U.S. Federal Census his name is Ralph C. Barragan.

Notes: Had a brother in Los Angeles named Jose Islas. In the 1940 U.S. Federal Census she is listed as a widow and working as a factory worker in a coat hanger factory. In her 1933 Petition for Citizenship her occupation is listed as a piano teacher. Died of ovarian cancer.

Notes: In World War II was a Ph M 1/c in the US Navy, attached to the First Marine Div. Received two Silver Stars, one from the Navy and one from the Marine Corp for action at Cape Gloucester, New Britain, where, on December 30, 1843, he received a bullet through the helmet while administering first aid to the wounded on the front lines. Belonged to Toastmasters. After retirement he became head usher at this parish church. Commander of American Legion Post 826, 1996-1997.
