Notes: Moved with family from Michigan to Alabama in Spring, 1873, at age of 6 or 7. In the 1880 Federal Census, she was living with her brother Ed, near her parents. That was probably because of the very crowded household in her father's house. Being under the age of 18, it was necessary for her to have a bond posted when she was married. Family moved to Birmingham, AL, and three children lived there. Died in childbirth of her 4th child when she was 23 or 24. Buried with the infant, next to Florian and Caroline Rasch.

Notes: His parents both died when he was 12 years old. In the 1880 Federal Census he was living with the Zulauf family near where Emma lived. That is probably how they met.

Notes: "Morgan Ricks was the second born, but first son. He was named after a senator his father highly respected. He was always ambitious, selling magazines as a young child, and newspapers later. His parents separated when he was a teen. He graduated from San Jacinto High School in Houston, TX in the same class with Walter Cronkite. He worked his way through college at Texas A & M University in College Station, TX. His field of study was petroleum Engineering. He quit school one year before graduating to marry his sweetheart, Myrtle 'Dody' Harris. Morgan Worked for Pittsburgh Screw and Bolf corp. for 16 years. He quit to start his own business and in 1956 he founded The Ricks Company distributing seals and steam turbine rings for rotating equipment. It expanded to Ricks-Owens & Company. Later the company grew to ROC Carbon Company and began manufacturing seals and bearings from mechanical carbon material. Under the leadership of daughter, Pamela Ricks Carlson, ROC Industries, Inc. diversified to carbon and metal parts. In 2004 grandson, Curtis Glenn Sager became the 3rd generation leadership to carry this family business into future endeavors." "Morgan was personable, loved the Lord (Christian), his family, his privacy, ranching, and woodworking. He died in his sleep unexpectedly of heart problems at 61. He was born at home and died at home and was never in a hospital as a patient."

Notes: "Dody Harris was the second daughter of 10 children. She graduated from Waller High School in Waller, TX, in 1935. Married an Aggie Corpman, Morgan Ricks in 1937. Dody was gifted in art. She loved flower arranging and painting and continued with those skills throughout her life. She painted in most medium: oil, pastels, acrylic, watercolor, pen & ink, etc. She never sold her paintings, but lovingly gave them away very selectively. Dody loved the Lord (Christian), her family, her flowers, painting, traveling, and flower arranging. She suffered with macular degeneration of the retina for many years, but continued to paint regularly. She called friends and relatives who were ill or having tough times to encourage them and let them know that someone cares. She was a faithful prayer."

Notes: "Pamela Ricks was the 'middle child' for 11 years until baby brother Randy was born. She adored children and always said she wanted to have 12 of her own. She graduated from Spring Branch High School, Houston, TX, in 1961, and attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX, 1961-1963. At 19 years old she married her sweetheart, Roy Sager. After Roy Graduated, they moved to Houston, TX, and Pam attended University of Houston earning a BS in Elementary Education in 1966, while pregnant with her second child. When her son was 3 months old, she learned that her husband had terminal cancer. She began teaching school and in 1971, after 8 years of marriage, Roy died. Pam began working in her father's company in 1977 when her father died. She was Human Resource Manager and was mentored by the interim president to run the company. She married Harold 'Bear' Carlson in 1985 and assumed the position of President in 1986-2003, when her son took the helm. Pam loves the Lord (Christian), her family, photography, traveling, people, gardening, genealogy, needlework." She has two children and three grandchildren

Notes: "Roy C. Sager was the first born in his family. He was born left-handed but was quickly taught to use his right hand. This caused a stutter problem in his youth. After about 5 years of marriage, Roy's parents divorced. Roy graduated from South Houston high School in South Houston, TX, in 1958 . He attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX, where he met his bride-to-be, Pam Ricks, on her first day at college, in Sept., 1961. They married on Dec. 21. 1962. Roy graduated with a B. S. in Industrial Arts, and went to work for Tenneco in Houston, TX, as an electrical draftsman. He was a mason, loved the Lord (Christian), his family, and working with his hands. He had carcinoid tumor cancer and died at age 31 in 1971."

Notes: "Harold 'Bear' Carlson was the 'middle child' in his family. Coming from a poor background, he learned to be responsible for himself. He had a paper route in Austin, TX, and hand delivered the Austin Statesman to the desk of Governor Allen Shivers. He began his paper route at age 9 and continued through high school. Harold was encouraged to pursue a career in architecture by his aunt who noted that he had an eye for structures. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1964. He worked for CRS in Houston, Clovis Heimsath in Houston, then ventured out on his own in 1973. Harold designed churches, banks, apartments, commercial buildings and a few homes, including his own. He has done architecture for the Texas Medical Center in Houston and Brown & Root. Harold learned to love the Lord from his father, who was a strong Christian. He is artistic, witty, compassionate, loves traveling, photography, building and vegetable gardening."
